Thermal underwear for climate change & global warming prevention – Environmental Agency
Most people hate the cold, for obvious reasons. Furthermore, while heating our homes and cars, we are doing damage to the environment by adding to global emissions. Gas, electricity and fuel all lead to damage to planet earth both in their excavation and then by burning these resources, we damage the earth further by causing harm to the ozone. Through wearing thermal underwear, we as individuals can take more responsibility in keeping ourselves warm. If we are warm, we won’t be as reliant on natural resources to keep us warm. By wearing thermals, as a minimum, you may be able to turn down the thermostat by a couple of degrees and if everyone did so, the impact on our environment will be significant. Through our unique partnership with the Environment Agency (since 2006), we took part in a trial project to supply their workforce with thermal underwear with their aim to turn down their office thermostat by a couple of degrees. This trial was extremely successful and as a result, the Environment Agency is supporting us to raise awareness of the effectiveness of our thermal underwear range.
British manufacturing means less environmental damage during transit
Globalisation has brought many advantages in countries around the world being able to share expertise and to exchange goods through import/export. One undeniable negative consequence has been the amount of fuel that is spent on transporting vast quantities of goods around the world. The damage to our planet and environment is devastating and permanent. There is no reason why more cannot be made nearer the consumer. As these items are made in the UK, they do not need to travel too far to their final consumer destination.

Random Acts of Kindness
We realise that thermals are invaluable for the homeless, lonely, elderly and other disadvantaged members of society. Therefore, as and when the opportunity presents, we reach out to individuals and distribute complimentary thermals to those who can benefit from extra warmth, but don't have the ability to make a purchase.
‘Gift of Warmth’ Buy-One-Give-One Charitable Initiative
We at British Thermals often distribute thermals and related items to people in need. Furthermore, many of our customers join us in making a difference to the lives of the underprivileged. Many people spend endless nights sleeping rough, often outdoors or in very basic accommodation. Many of these people have simply had a series of bad luck incidents, are ill or are victims of abuse. We realise the difference that thermal underwear can make in the lives of the homeless – it can mean the difference between life and death. As a result, some years ago, we launched the ‘Gift of Warmth’ Buy-One-Give-One charitable initiative. It is an opportunity for customers to buy from our limited edition ‘Commando Black’ flagship British made men’s thermal underwear range. Aside from the limited edition colour, for each garment that is bought from the range, we give a garment to someone underprivileged. We distribute thermals through our relations with a number of charities and homeless shelters. Keep yourself warm and feel good in knowing that you’ve given someone the gift of warmth this winter.
